Hi everyone!
Sorry for the delay in posts...we're staying at a park where the internet is TERRRRRRIBLE. It take 4 hours to upload a one minute video! Aggghhhh! Anyway, went to Joshua Tree National Park on Wednesday. Beautiful place. Some really cool rock structures and some REALLY cool trees...or cacti..not really sure. Looked like trees, but pricked like cacti. They reminded me of a Dr. Seuss book. In fact, driving out of Joshua Tree at night was kinda freaky. It felt like we were in some weird storybook land.
Some mountain views
Got to see the sunset from Keys View. It was a bit hazy. Apparently it's always that way due to air pollution. Which is terrible. But the sunset was beautiful. The first one looks like a watercolor to me.
On our way out, we stopped to see the stars. When you're in Joshua Tree, there is zero light pollution, so the sky is saturated with stars. I've never seen so many! We also got to see Venus and Saturn. (That's what some guy told us at least) Venus was the first light in the sky and the brightest of all. After Joshua Tree, we stopped by this dive bar down the stret from our park. This is where I beat both Shawn and the bartender's boyfriend at Wii Bowling...Twice!! I knew Shawn would deny this, so here is proof. I also have a video :)
Had a blast with the bartender and her bf. Played some games, talked some politics and listened to some great music. Good night.

Hi! The fifth picture down (the tree with the light behind it) is spectacular. Looks like something out of N.G. It makes you wonder if Geisel took any inspiration from the nature around him. After all, he did live in C.A!
ReplyDeleteGloating is not an attractive trait, dear. :)
Love, Mom
PS. How does it feel to be in your late 20s? Ha,ha.
I'd love to visit Joshua Tree sometime as well as Idyllwild. Hope you find better internet soon - want more posts! Some of us are at home working so your trip provides vicarious pleasure!
